How do I replace a washbasin?

Advice from our plumbers for the replacement of your sink

The steps to replace a washbasin:

  1. Turn off the water and heat in the bathroom.
  2. Disconnect the supply and drain pipes from the existing sink, using a screwdriver to undo the clamps that hold the hoses to the fittings on the sink.
  3. Remove the existing sink, making sure no parts remain inside the walls or behind the wall before removing the sink completely.
  4. Install a new frame to accommodate your new sink, if it is different from the previous model (most frames are interchangeable).
  5. Place your new sink on the frame and secure them together with screws provided by the manufacturer or similar hardware appropriate to your specific needs.
  6. Reconnect the supply and drain hoses to your new faucet according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer; Make sure each gasket is tightened properly so that it doesn’t leak once filled with hot and cold water over the next few days/weeks after its initial installation.
  7. Then reinstall the drain and then set up all accessories like drainers, siphoning tubes, etc., according to your individual needs.
  8. Then turn the water supply and heating back on to the bathroom to complete this simple but important process!
